“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler ”
French for "Let the good times roll."

For the last couple of weeks most of Louisiana, south Mississippi, south Alabama, and even parts of west Florida have been living out that French phrase, Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler as we have been celebrating the Carnival season with parades, parties, and formal balls.  The “good times will continue to roll” through next Tuesday with Mardi Gras celebrations throughout the region but nowhere more spectacular than in the city of New Orleans.

Unlike some misconceptions, the good times rarely involve indecent exposures and debauchery.  To the contrary, these celebrations are typically family affairs with multiple generations joining in the revelry and the food, floats, and fun.  Mardi Gras was created in an effort to “get it in” before a forty-day period of abstinence and spiritual reflection. While many don’t make the connection between the two, it’s probably good to do both – have some fun time and have some reflection time.

In a few short weeks we will do just that.  Our annual conference is shaping up to be a great time to reflect, learn, and have some fun.  Make sure you have made plans to join us in Charleston.  The hotel is filling up, registrations are up, and the pre- and post- conference excursions are going fast.  So, don’t delay, register today!  And we’ll see you in South Carolina so that we can all “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler”!
Continue to do good work,
